It's sometimes the kids see themselves as geniuses. May be it's all due to the good education they get, the tongue-tip english they speak, and the exposure to the outside world. That doesn't stop at school, but why it should. After all they're our kids and aren't we proud of their language fluency and tell me, do we supress the fact if they're intellectuals? We boast to our friends about their brilliance and extraordinary talents. Well, I shall narrate a recent incident in that line - not a very good stroke of brilliance. It's about my younger daughter, Kushi aged seven years. She was on the phone talking to my Mother and when mother asked what she was doing, Kushi said, "Grandma, I'm reading the tables...don't think of the dining table, it's the table in Maths". The kid knew that my mom do not speak English. My mom was perplexed and could only say that she would deal with Kushi when she's in town the next time. Nevertheless, my mom was proud of her grand daughter and recited the episode to her friends. But when my niece enquired, Kushi said that she was reading the tables.
Though it was an incident to laugh and enjoy, the kid should not continue this trend when she grows up. The trend would be a trait and be a problem to her and us.
