Met Pressi after three years

I met my best friend after three years and as usual it was 'Hi' when we met first and 'Bye' when we parted. We had a couple of very nice one-to-one parties where the discussion was about our past life in the IAF, present life, other friends, our kids, and of course of the Chennai food. The paya-parotta combination with steamed-and-fried prawns as an accompaniment is too much to ask for. The taste still lingers... His family brought in the first rains of 2009 to Chennai with them when they arrived from Kolkata at the airport. We drove to Bangalore together. I spoke to Sumi after a long time. Those who don't know must be wondering who Sumi is; my Sister. Also met her kids the first time. Okay okay, she's Pressi's own sister, and mine too. Isn't it not? Now what? Oh okay, Pressi is the friend we were discussing. Ah yes, it was very nice to meet Padma Mommy (Pressi's Mom. Too many characters in this post? Guys, you have to adjust with me. I can't just keep on explaining the relationships. Make it out yourself). Padma Mommy had shifted back to Mahalakshmi layout, the place where we grew in 1986-88. To see the same surroundings but with a different perspective was totally thrilling! Oh yes, I could meet Babu uncle, a character of the past and my hero. I should tell you this... There is a wedding photo of Babu mama and athai in Pressi's home. Athai is beautiful and Babu mama is smart and athletic, and for some reason, I adored him. May be because he's also a Forest Officer just like my Father. Nevertheless, I adored him and to meet him in person at a wedding party after 23 years is just exciting. We talked and talked of forests, jungles, and just about anything about wild animals. I could after a long time a person interested in forests and wild animals. But everything has to end. Is it not?

The return jouney (I drove alone) was in a bit haste to keep up with commitments and reach home early. I had to sing to the tunes of Yuvan, Rehman and Ilayaraja to keep me active, cheerful and beat boredom. Please excuse me music directors! I had ruined quite a few of your tunes that you had painstakingly tuned. Those are are the photos of the kids (Pressi's and Sumi's). Pink tops - Dahliya, Red tops - Lekhna, Black tops - Sahana, and Cream tops - Bunty. And the lazy guy on top is Pressi. Click the photos to have a larger view.
